FuelSelector Manual (English)

The FuelSelector app helps people to choose the best type of fuel for their bi-fuel vehicle when they are about to fill up their fuel tank. To do it, the app uses basic math with the gasoline's value of the gas station where the refuelling is about to be done and a conversion rating for that vehicle.

fuel1Inputing gasoline price
At "Calculate" screen, there are 6 squares and a dot between each set of 3 squares. In those squares should be informed the value for gasoline of the gas station where the refuelling is about to be made. The first 3 squares represents units, dozens and hundreds of the country's current currency and the 3 last represents the cents. If in any given country the gasoline costs 2.69, then the value for each square should be 002.690.
In order to change the value of each square, just slide your finger up or down until you reach the desired number. Once a calculation is made, the gasolina's price it is stored and loaded he next time a new calculation will be made, thus saving some time.

Calculating Ethanol Price
After the price for gasoline has been informed and "Calculate" button been pressed, the top price for Ethanol to still be worth filling your vehicle's tank it is shown below the"Calculate" button. This value is obtained by multiplying the gasoline's price and the conversion rating. By default this conversion rating is 70% but its real value can be informed in another screen.

fuel2Conversion Rating
On "Settings" screen, there is a field where it is possible to enter the conversion rating information which is used for the calculation. By default, this rating is 70%, which is a value usually accepted as a common raitng for all cars, at least the brazilian cars. To figure it out what are the real rating for your vehicle, consult a specialist or try to do your own measurement. You can try to do as follows: Fill up with gasoline, note down the vehicle kilometrage. Runs until your reserve light lights up, note down the vehicle kilometrage once more. The difference between those two noted kilometrages will give you the number of kilometers that your vehicle can run with gasoline. Now, fill up with Ethanol e repeat the process to obtain how much kilometers your vehicle runs with Ethanol. Dividing Ethanol's kilometrage for gasoline's kilometrage and multiplying by 100 will give you tha rating for this vehicle. For a better result repeat all the process more times.
